Opening Plenary: Abnormal Forms - AI as a Sequel to Pick and Codd

In light of AI advances, what does "software developer" even mean for the next generation? As AI agents evolve from chatbots to business tools, developers and software companies face their most disruptive moment since the internet.

This plenary addresses questions like: How do you stay competitive when stakeholders ask if ChatGPT 6 or claude.ai will replace your ERP or the people who use it?

Through practical examples and expert panel discussion, we'll explore what's working now—AI capabilities saving real money, product roadmaps in a multi-model world.  The old Pick versus Codd debates feel prophetic as we integrate robotics and agents into workflows.

Whether investing development resources, proving your value to AI-curious customers, or separating signal from noise, you'll leave with immediately actionable insights.

Midway Plenary: Rocket MV: Vision, Momentum, and the Leaders Shaping What’s Next

MultiValue is evolving and so is the community behind it.  In this keynote, we’ll share Rocket Software’s mission and highlight what’s new and next for Rocket MV.  From platform innovations to strategic investments, we’ll showcase the momentum driving MV forward.

We’ll also discuss the importance of MV community experience and succession planning, including how Rocket is cultivating the next generation of MultiValue managers and engineers.  You’ll hear directly from emerging MV leaders at Rocket, their fresh perspectives, real stories, and a glimpse into the bright future they are helping to build.

Closing Plenary: The New Role of Humans in Software Engineering

Every major wave in software promised to make developers obsolete, and every time, they became more valuable. AI is following the same pattern, but at unprecedented speed. AI is disrupting the job market for junior developers, and redefining what it means to be a software engineer.

Through live demos and real-world data, this session explores the transformation of today's software professional to Problem Translator, Quality Judge, Systems Orchestrator, and Agent Manager. You'll leave with a strategic AI playbook — for your team, your product, and your career.

In this session, we’ll cut through the noise and see exactly what JSON is, why it matters for MV developers specifically, and how to put it to work today. You'll walk away with hands-on coding examples using U2 Dynamic Objects, Python, and UniVerse's new dynamic object extension — examples you can take back to your desk and build on immediately. Whether you're connecting to another application or creating an API for your U2 application, this session will change how you think about your MV application's isolation in the modern technology stack.
